Further research shows that the numbers do not work out. The amount of energy needed to create the electrolysis process requires more energy than the alternator can produce. This would lead to speculation that many of these boost system accounts are wrong, or can not produce the amount of energy needed for it to be effective. Regrettably, the economics at this time do not support the hybrid-boost system.
On the positive side, this technology can hold a lot of potential, and with further advances in renewable technology we may one day be able to easily produce a fuel such as Brown's Gas from our own homes. The best way to save 10-20% more gas right now is save your money and buy a bike.

HHO gas can save 60% on fuel costs
I did a google search and came across this story, done by a news station. They tested a device that converts water to hydrogen in one of their news trucks and got a big increase in gas mileage. They say they're going to retest it in July and see if it's really working as well as it appears to. Here's the link: News Story
Question Posed
The way that we consume water is constantly on the rise. We drill hundreds of feet just to reach it in some parts of the world. This poses the question is fresh water a renewable energy source?
Better than flying cars in my opinion
Here is video that shows the power that water holds. Its a little bit of promotional video but its well done and definitely shows the potential of how much energy it holds.
